Who are we:
The Institute for Eye Research Foundation is an organization which raises funds for projects that advance eye care and vision through science, research, education and humanitarian initiatives to improve sight for all people.
Why the Institute:
The Institute for Eye Research Foundation will provide an opportunity for researchers to experience the immense value of scientific interactions and camaraderie by sponsoring international, interdisciplinary eye and vision research and education collaborations. For example optometry researchers learn from ophthalmology colleagues or ophthalmology researchers learn from and exchange ideas with optometry colleagues.
The Antti Vannas Fellowship:
In July 2006 the Vannas Fellowship was launched to promote international interdisciplinary eye research. The Fellowship was established to celebrate and honour the contributions of Professor Antti Vannas to science and eye research and to recognise his great capacity to stimulate colleagues > read more
Objectives:
The Institute for Eye Research Foundation promotes an effective training mechanism by promoting fellowships in which researchers gain exposure to science, research and education within another research environment. The program offers researchers the opportunity to gain further knowledge, build collaborative partnerships and share academic and scientific information in eye health and vision care.
The Institute for Eye Research Foundation aims to develop further understanding of eye health and vision care and develop research and educational strategies to prevent, cure and eliminate eye and vision conditions.
